Your generation needs to learn that nobody is here to coddle you. Nobody cares about trigger warnings Everyone is allowed to express their opinions how they want. If you don’t like it, move on. It’s that simple. Liberals are starting to become perfectionists and it’s why I can no longer call myself that. So embarrassing

@CopsHateMoe I was living off ad revenue in the internet on the late 90s, when I was your age, so I do get it. But too many ads can be counterproductive, because it discourages people from watching more videos and then hopefully subscribing. The other concern of course is demonetization, which FRvid seems to have very little reservation about. You discuss sensitive topics and more and more videos are getting demonetized for increasingly stupid reasons, so relying on those ad breaks is scary and unreliable for creators. I know it's not easy but I hope you are able to land sponsorships. (I also get how that's more difficult for some than others; my website was controversial and it presents a whole other challenge when trying to find compatible advertisers.) I know you didn't ask for a lecture, I just think you have quality content here and this is the kind of thing I support on FRvid. It's unfair that people who use this platform to make the world better have a FAR more difficult time building a large audience than people who abuse the privilege (won't bother to name names, you know.) Hey, maybe you can make a second channel with completely awful DIY/life hacks and put tons of ads on those!! You literally don't even have to think, just grab a hot glue gun and start sticking things to other things. You'll have 10 million subs in a week.

Coming back to ask a genuine question I've had in the back of my head for awhile now: When did transmedicalism fully take off in the trans community, who can the ideology be traced back to, and just how did such a harmful ideology ever become so popular?

The "fake" disabilities thing really hits me because I relate. While I am not trans, I am a disabled person who both walks and uses a wheelchair. I am constantly afraid that people will think I am faking because I only use my wheelchair when outside because I can't walk long distances with out being in extreme pain or literally being unable to walk anymore. It's infuriating and upsetting that someone else has to go through a great fear of mine. Also those phych ward people are assholes, like seriously what did they ever do to you for you to be so nasty. People suck sometimes

Lars has EDS if I'm reading correctly. I also have EDS and have been through a similar thing. People constantly telling me I'm faking my illness and shit. Its so harmful and just shows how uneducated Kalvin is. I am in a wheelchair sometimes and other times I'm taking my dogs on hikes or working a job. It's so ignorant and honestly gives me 2012 Tumblr vibes.

i also think that its very important that the people he went after were feminine presenting... while i think you were right in him attacking these individuals because of his own insecurities and want of cis validation, but also it seems deeply rooted in misogyny. to my knowledge, he didn't attack any amab or masc presenting individuals. great video- very well done. can't imagine how hard it was to look through all of these things

the fact that he traumatized brennan makes my blood boil. because of his rheoric, people still come for me with his mentality. i get called a "trender" because i identify with gender identities wildly outside of the gender binary. i identify with these genders and use neo/xenopronouns because im autistic. being autistic causes me to have a complex relationship with gender. i dont feel human, i dont think im human (thats also a religious thing) and my gender reflects my identity as a being in some way. kalvins rhetoric is so ableist and it hurts so much. UPDATE: im watching further and my blood is boiling, my heart goes out to lars and all his victims. YES, YOU CAN IDENTIFY AS AUTIGENDER BECAUSE AUTISM IMPACTS GENDER

i used to watch him not that long ago and I watched him for like a few years. During that time I had a lot of internalized homophobia and transphobia. I was so obsessed with hating enbys and anyone who was different than Kalvin and Blaire. after some time I realized I was definitely a lesbian. But I was so sure I was cis. this is when I was going through a lot mentally (still doesn't excuse my actions) I agreed with everything Kalvin and Blaire said. after I started medication and going to therapy I was able to start a new life, and I slowly realized I'm non-binary myself. I was diagnosed as neurodivergent and it explained a lot. I've now realized how I experience gender is slightly abnormal and i used to hate myself SO MUCH that i hated anything like how i actually was. Now I'm en enby lesbian and i use they/them and many neopronouns. And I now disagree with EVERYTHING I used to believe.I've finally come to accept myself and those around me after so many years. Im now so much happier :) (Im sorry if this is hard to read I'm not good at typing long things )

The ableism and the degree that so many buy into is is heartbreaking. Most disabled people have days where we're able to do more than others. We might be able to fix the roof or do our grocery shipping one day, but barely able to shower or do the dishes the next. Hell, I can dance for hours some days but may have a couple of weeks where I can't stand without a cane. And that's not even accounting for my less visible mental disabilities. And people will see me on a highly functional day and then call my inability to keep up with housework laziness.

I remember thinking he was a really good source for trans content when I was in middle school, I watched a lot of his content when I was about 13. Now I'm openly non-binary and trying so hard to present differently for my own comfort and I realize how dangerous his ideals were that I found myself spewing to my cis friends. I hope I can continue to undo the damage I've done by reiterating his content to others.

that’s why i felt off watching his “trans people can’t be feminine video.” i thought that i was being a transtrender, but some of my friends proved that wrong. i was asking myself if i could still dress in a more feminine way and like feminine things. kalvin said, “yes you can, BUT if you fully look like a woman you’re NOT trans, and if you don’t have dysphoria you’re NOT trans. i believed in what he said and cut my hair short because of it. i’m proud of my short hair, but i still looked very feminine and got scared if i was still being a transtrender. im still a minor who can’t afford things like binders, and i’m still in the closet, it made me feel like that i was forcing myself as trans because i didn’t met up his standards. i was incredibly stupid. my friends helped me realized that everyone’s journey are different; that everyone can express themselves freely. there are no expectations and standards that you have to meet to be a trans male (or trans female.)

on his neopronouns video, i commented about how i use frog pronouns even before watching it because i can't stand him. turns out he actually did diss frog pronouns in that video, so that was a wild ride. i do remember at one point i met a bunch of people who were just hanging out in the comments, and we decided to have a sleepover. lucky me, i had bought two monster energys earlier so i was prepared. it was honestly super wholesome, we decided to move to another video so it was easier to talk, and i met someone who i really liked!! i haven't talked to them in ages now, i should probably dm them again. there really isn't much i can say here, but i thought it would be a nice story to share after all his hateful words.

If you're reading the comments, Kalvin: I agree with Moe, *wholeheartedly*. Please see a therapist or learn meditation or both. Anytime someone says or thinks "EW! It's ____ , they're disgusting and less than me. I'm a better person that deserves to be treated with dignity, they do NOT deserve the same privileges that I have" that's fas*ism. pls stop identifying with na*i ideology, you're harming children's minds and ruining lives, clearly. social justice (people dying and fighting for rights) is the reason you're able to transition at all. pls watch all of PhilosophyTube's and Samantha Lux's videos on TERFs and other political stuffs and have some self-reflection? the mainstream loves canceling but I feel like intersectional feminists would agree character growth is always welcome, inevitable, and a must, if real change were to happen.

Kalvin is an oppressor, he is incredibly fatphobic, ableist and also transphobic. Yes he is trans but his actions towards his own community (which includes nb people and is more than just what he views as trans) was HORRIBLY damaging and did so much hurt to us. I firmly believe how he treats folks have gotten people killed or hurt and I fully separate him from our spaces. He is no longer welcome in our spaces if all he is going to do is cause harm. My opinion on him will change if he changes and grows himself, and if he goes to repair the damage he's done.

As a trans man, I honestly never want to say the t slur, ever, even though I know that I could. It just makes me so unconfortable, knowing the power in the word, and I often worry that if I say it around cisgender people, it will make them think that they can say it. I'm also bisexual, but I won't say the f slur either, for the same reason that heteros around me might think it's appropriate for them to say it.

Head Smooty
Head Smooty Il y a 8 jours
@lia one of the biggest problems with trans and gay movements that most people have a problem with and why they're starting to resent them is because they're are trying to force it upon people. They're using politics, laws, and social media to force you to accept their lifestyle. When you force people to do things they don't want to they tend to resent you. Most people just don't care and them not caring is bigotry in your mind. Of course there are definitely hate filled people and I would never condone acting out in violence towards someone who is gay or transgender or fat. But stop calling people bigots and phobes of some sort because you don't see eye to eye.
Head Smooty
Head Smooty Il y a 8 jours
@lia yes, they are bullshit terms in which everyone is lumped into if they don't agree with your opinions and lifestyle. Sure, a person who blatantly slams and physically harms or vocally expresses their hatred towards these groups is a bigot. But the problem with your movement and people like you is that if a person just isn't interested in your cause or simply doesn't agree with your opinions you then label them a bigot and then assign them a phobia of your choice. The fact that you don't see anything wrong with the is disturbing. The average person when confronted with a person who doesn't like them or their lifestyle usually just goes on with life and ignores that person, but you and people in your circle have created a way of dealing with everyone who you don't like by just lumping everyone in the same category because they don't agree with you. You point fingers in anger and lash out. People are allowed to like or dislike whatever they want. Nobody has to like your lifestyle and ideas and that certainly doesn't make everyone a bigot or a homophobe. It's gotten so ridiculous that a article came out by a transgender person saying that if you won't date a transgender person then you're transphobic. I mean does that make sense to you? So because I like women and prefer not to date transgenders because I'm just not attracted to them that in turn makes me a transphobic bigot? That's okay in your eyes?
lia

On the topic of Arielle Scarcella, she was damaging in a different way for me. When I was about 16 I was thinking that I like both men and women. I went looking for answers/support from FRvid ofc. Her and others videos about bisexuals and lesbians calling them cheaters, really straight, gross, and they would NEVER date a bi person really made me feel awful and made me think I wasn’t even accepted by the community who’s name I share a letter with (LGBTQ). I hate that they were all so toxic and disregarded other experiences when they knew their influence and responsibility. Did this happen to anyone else?? Im trans (ftm) ive been out for 3 years, im 17. used to look up to Kalvin for a really long time and it ended up harming who i was as a person and i realized i was making people i cared about and other trans people feel gross about themselves by spreading his misinformation as a reason to validate myself and then put down other trans people. learning more about the people around me and leaving kalvin behind helped me understand every trans person experiences being trans in a different way and thats perfectly fine and theres no reason to tell people whether they are trans or not thats for them to figure out not for people like Kalvin to dictate. Even though i never affected anyone here directly id still like to apologize for blindly believing someone and hurting others for it.

Lars is someone i can really relate to. i have undiagnosed hEDS and professionally diagnosed autism. im a agender/non-binary person. (it/bug/they) i used to watch Kalvins videos. i used to believe what he was saying. since i didnt kniw you could be more than a man or woman, i identified as a trans man. i used to use he/him pronouns. because thats what i was told by him. that unless i was his version of trans, i was a trender. and i didnt want to be a trender. i didnt want him to make a video about me. he was so damaging. if it werent for him i would have known i was non-binary a long time ago.

I remember his "you need dysphoria to be trans" video, I was at the start of my gender realisation and let me tell you that fucked me Up bc I have more social dysphoria, less body dysphoria. Like dear god, I'm glad I'm getting more opinions pushing away the idea that I have to despise my body to be trans. It helps, several years down the line

I'm so upset that I was stupid enough to spend my money on his Patreon. Theres nothing on there anyway that I haven't seen on his FRvid. What a waste of 30 bucks over time.

I love cops, but I want you to know, that when I had a breast reduction at 17, it was one of the greatest things ever! It felt quite comfortable, after surgery, and my scars mostly faded after 6-8 Months. I lost all sense of sensation in my ' sensitive areas ' and underneath, though. It is so liberating and freeing, you will feel like a face, instead of face and breasts. That was my experience. I had my surgery in Adelaide-Aus. It was life-changing for the best

Cis and Trans come from Latin. Cis means, "this side of," and Trans means "the other side of." If that "other side" happens to be nonbinary, you can be trans and nonbinary! Some nonbinary people do not like calling themselves trans. I am agender and I have not decided if I want to call myself trans or not. It's different for everybody.

The word "transgender" just means you identify with a different gender than the one you were assigned at birth. Since Moe wasn't assigned non-binary, but they do identify as non-binary now, they fall under the umbrella of "transgender".

I’m so embarrassed that I used to follow him... I used to watch him when I was a bit younger, but very clearly remember feeling invalid for my dysphoria because of him, and feeling anxious about coming out, because I didn’t want to be called a “Trender”. After a while, it got to the point I stopped watching him because I began realizing how toxic he really was. So glad I did. Yikes...

I used to watch Kalvin at the peak of his channel because I did agree with some of his points about transmedicalism and other things, but I stopped watching because I realized that just because you disagree with how someone presents doesn't mean you should bully them (i never did this, but it got to the point that I realized that that was what he was doing). I didn't know much of this stuff was going on that you mentioned, and if I did I would have stopped watching him a lot sooner. I was young and naive at the time. I think that his rhetoric is definitely dangerous to those who do not know much about transgender people/the LGBT community like I did. Thank you for making this video to highlight some of the scummy things I didn't realize were happening back then and I hope anyone effected by Kalvin is doing better now.

Awesome video, i watched a few of Kalvs videos but he made me feel shittier and less educated than when i came so i unsubscribed immideatly... Its just so sad cuz he must have SO much internalized transphobia and other issues, and really hate himself pouring all of that hatred out there in The ether ): also so sad that his content affects so many trans People negatively hopefully he can become a better and compasionate person at some point /:

I remember finding his videos as a stupid teenager, back before I had a change of heart after actually looking at transgender people's perspectives. And you know what, I still clicked off his videos because he was just to mean! I don't get how people could think he's in the right, even if they agree with a few of the he does, because he's just a bad guy.
