Hands down this became one of my favorite films of all time. I put off watching it for a year thinking it to be just another cut and paste flop. Then one rainy, afternoon Mr. Phoenix became my favorite actor lol

Talking about who's the best You just can't compare, not in the way in which it's like, oh ____ is way better than ____, it's that yes they are all the Joker, but they are very much different characters, its not like comparing Batman because he's always been the playboy billionaire orphan but the Joker they have similarities but still are, in my eyes, different characters.

It would be cool if Joker becomes a character that multiple directors and actors try to develop in different ways. I loved the movie was a masterpiece. But I'd like to see a Joker the character developed from a different angle ... more violent, raw, sociopathic from early life ....maybe raised by sicarios and then he ends up in Gotham trying to take control of the city.... a joker that's crazy , but very powerful and fearless almost a mercenary type character...after all he has to take on the Batman ....... I just love movies 🙂🙂

This was Incredible! BUT there was one gaping hole. How would DeNiro's TV show have a video of Arthur's performance??? It was before cell phones!! Or was that all in Arthur's mind?

- joaquin fucking EARNED that Oscar . i’m glad he won it , he made the joker intimidating and sympathetic at the same time . that’s not easy . since the joker is a warped , absolutely INTENSE character .

I loved Joaquin Phoenix's performance in Joker but can we please also pay much respect to Todd Phillips. His transition from his usual type of movies to this incredible movie. Todd's interpretation and execution of Joker was incomprehensible. It doesn't seem that he was paid enough due's for his direction. I have probably watched Joker around 30 times and every time I find something new and chilling to my core.

I'd say the best Joker is yet to come ... idk if there would be a continuation of this character, perhaps this could be an introduction ... in other words the light side of the coin. A darker more sinister character to follow 👍

That is the best of humanity.” Grazie Joaquin Phoenix! (THE BEST THING I'VE HEARD IN 2020) LOVE FROM PAKISTAN

This wasn't a MOVIE ... This is what the world turned out to be, this is what bulling feels like, this is what mental illness and loneliness feels like, this is someone who's SO TIRED to ask for help, but no one CARES, no one.

I watched this movie in the theatre by myself, wasn’t sure anyone would want to see it with me. I’m glad I went alone. Gave me time after to reflect and bask in its individuality without someone’s bullshit opinion ruining it. I had plenty of opportunity for that at work the following few weeks 😕

My most emotional scene that I really felt so sorry for Arthur is on the theatre where he goes to find his "father" (supposed to be) while his shouting at him in total dispear: "I don't want anything from you. Maybe a little bit of warmth, maybe a hug, Dad [...] It's me, Dad!" and then this neurotic laughter comes up and he punch him so hard on his face that his nose starts bleeding and cries over the sink. My heart broke into a thousand million pieces. He was like a little child asking for love, even the expressions of his face were so innocent. I felt his lonliness, I was thinking "poor, little baby..." and wanted to hug him so badly. Joaquin made me like this with his great performance!

If you're going to make an origin story for one of the best loved villains of all time, you better nail it. & did they do just that! A perfect slow dive into the abyss culminating with the bloodied joker smile. You know you've been caught up in the madness once you've caught yourself doing the slow motion dance.

I found the film a very, very tough watch. It was so dark, but I also found it difficult as a mental health sufferer myself. I could feel Arthur's pain. At the start he was trying desperately to find some light and be 'normal' within society, but society was so damned shitty to him - having his sign stolen and getting beaten up, the woman on the bus when he is just being cute with her son, the betrayal of his work colleague, etc. It is like all of these things just chipped away at his soul until he snaps. The irony is that he only finds acceptance eventually through total destruction. Joaquin Phoenix's performance was incredible. He totally captured that feeling of teetering on the edge of insanity until you either remain standing or fall. If he doesn't win the Oscar for this, it will be a travesty.

Just watched The Joker.... Wow! Omg... What to say. That is the most poignant, startling relevant, truly brilliant piece of cinema in decades! I've loved Joaquin Phoenix for years & was in my top 10 actors but he just moved into the top 5. His performance is undeniably the most artistic, physically and emotionally difficult, charismatic, unbelievably epic performances I've seen. He absolutely deserves an Oscar. Hands down. Also, this movie brings harsh attention, and quite so, the mental illness epidemic in this Country. I know it's a movie based on a comic but this movie brilliantly coincides the issues in our system, with mentally ill people being overlooked and just swept under the rug. Our Government won't provide the resources for the people who need it. I think this movie is absolutely amazing. On so many levels. And by the by, I love Jack Nicholson & Heath Ledger as Joker, but Joaquin nailed it! Having the whole back story and his performance was just pure genius! I will watch again just to see his nuances he captured in the character. It's truly amazing. If he doesn't win the Oscar, I think it's rigged then... Cuz he went above & beyond. Makes me think of when he played Johnny Cash. Another brilliant job acting. Anyways, I hope everyone takes the time to watch this. It's difficult at times & I cried more then once cuz you really feel for him. It's a new twist to Joker. You have empathy for him yet you don't like what he does... Yet you understand. The bathroom scene right after his first kill is cinematic & acting brilliance in my opinion. Will go down as one of the best films ever made.
