Today I decided to go houseplant shopping at 7 Big Box Stores in my home town. I am aways curious as to which Walmart, lowes, & Home Depot locations have the best indoor plant selection. Garden Centers in grocery stores & hardware stores like these are typically not the greatest, but I think I was able to find some great plants to add to my houseplant collection! What do you think?

Where do you buy most of your plants? There’s horrible selection where I live (Michigan) and places usually only sell outdoor plants. Love your channel by the way!

I love rescuing plants yet I have encountered major headaches when shopping at ikea, lowes. When the plant is dead, they will not discount ( or discount further if plant has two nodes remaining-they'd rather trash them). The not talked about underworld of retailing plants that just want a home😕

It's way worse where I live. I have one Lowe's that about 30 minutes away and it's always booming with plants. One time I went there and got a 4-5 foot healthy schefflera amate for 14 because they accidentally labeled it as a pothos lol

In my experience here in Michigan, Home Depot and Walmart had the best selection and healthiest plants. Lowe’s was super disappointing and in Menards I found a Monstera plant which I was so excited about- but they were all half dead. All of Menards plants were super unhealthy!

The real tragedy is what happens to the plants that are not "pretty" enough for people to buy. Where I work we cut the plant off at the root and throw it in a bin and pot and soil goes in the trash. It takes hours cutting shopping carts full of plants every day. Yes.... shopping carts FULL EVERYDAY.
