I've been waiting one and a half years to get my hair permed again. This is the longest I've gone since I was 15 and everyone keeps telling me to do it at home..... This is why I say 'NO WAY' 😂 I'll just keep plaiting it every night until I can finally get my hairdresser back. Thanks covid 🙄

I doubt you’ll see this but, I was bleaching my hair for years and decided to change it up. the last time my hair was blonde (i had about an inch and a half of natural roots) was in march of 2019 and then i started putting color on it. my hair was about 3-4 inches past my shoulder and then in may i chopped it off to my shoulders. my hair is currently the length it was before i cut it. do you think i could get a perm? i do NOT want my hair breaking off.

I permed my hair in the summer... after going ginger last February(I'm naturally a very light blonde)... I got over the ginger quickly and did a colour remover and then went mint. And was mint for 4 months and then permed it... which was no bueno. I then went emerald. Then added yellow to go bright green. Then I started washing it out daily so I could go back mint.. I did a bleach bath and then went back mint at Christmas and here I am still mint. I have had to cut my hair into a bob to get rid of a lot of the fried hair hahaha.. luckily I dig a bob! 🤣😂 2020 was a year of chaos in SO MANY WAYS. Lol

As a cos student, I’ve used perm rods with only water on a mannequin cuz that’s what I gotta do for state board and holy shit, it’s so difficult to do.

When I was in cosmo school the *only* thing I was good at (as far as hair) was perms! Came out perfect every time. All perm clients were sent to my station. But I sucked at EVERYTHING else hair wise. And that is why I don’t do hair.

So I have wavy/curly hair, like 2c and 3a, but I just have this one small section of hair that doesn't curl like the rest. Do y'all think a professional would be able to perm that one small section so I don't have a straight rat tail?

I did perm on my mom hair, i am no professional, she teached me how to do it before, and she always came out nice, except once, wich was meh, not really bad though. We did it at home because she couldn't find a hairdresser that took the time she needed and never came out as she liked, and sometimes the perm they were doing kept for 2 days, so she was happier with what i did xD Now she found a hairdresser in her area that she is very happy with, that takes the time needed, that takes very small strands, he have a great technique and she love the results, the perm is fine for half a year or a year. So no more home made perm, i am so happy because it really needs patience and for me it takes a looot of time, and i hate the chemical smell xD It's a win win situation, but perm can be done at home decently, it needs a little bit of knowledge, and someone else to make it for you (someone with lot of patience), i don't think it's something someone should do on themselves, it's not that easy.

Someone help me please. I really want my hair permed again I did this years ago and it turned out amazing (professionally) and I want to get it done professionally again however my hair has been bleached quite a few times in the past year but not at all in the last 3 or 4 months and I don't want my hair to snap off. I have permed it after bleaching before and my hair feels okay but I am scared of falling out lol is there any way to help my hair not fall of like deep conditioners or anything

When I was in beauty school, one girl did her whole head in tight twist knots & put perm solution all over them. Needless to say, the knots broke off at the root & we learned how to style a wig 😅👍🏼

Well I have natural hair and I put my hair on perm rods once it’s not entirely the same process since my hair is naturally curly but Brad us unprofessional DIY home people do not have the resilience to be patient with a full head of hair lol

I remember in middle school my friends grandma tried to perm mine and my friends hair for a semi formal at school, and luckily she messed up by rinsing my hair out of the curlers so instead of giving me a frizzy haired mess she just rinsed all the solution out. I never noticed a difference from before and after so i dodged a bullet lol
